Description

The Chauvin Arnoux CA6549 is a high-performance 5kV digital insulation tester designed for quantitative and qualitative analysis of insulation on industrial equipment. It is particularly suited for high-voltage applications like testing cables, motors, generators, and transformers.

Key Features
  • Measurement range: It can test insulation resistance up to 10 TΩ, with a voltage measurement range of 40 to 5,100V.
  • Programmable test voltages: Features four preset test voltages: 500V, 1,000V, 2,500V, and 5,000V. The voltage can also be adjusted manually in increments of 10V or 100V.
  • Graphical display: The large, backlit graphic screen displays real-time graphs for insulation measurements, including the R(t) curve.
  • Polarization Index (PI): Calculates the ratio of the insulation resistance at 10 minutes to the resistance at 1 minute.
  • Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR): Calculates the ratio of the insulation resistance at 1 minute to the resistance at 30 seconds.
  • Dielectric Discharge (DD): Measures the residual current flowing from a multi-layer insulator after the voltage is removed.
  • Step Voltage Mode: Gradually increases the test voltage to assess insulation quality by observing the R(Utest) curve.
