Description

The HT Instruments IMP57 is a high-resolution accessory for measuring loop impedance and prospective short-circuit current (Ipsc), up to 400 kA. It operates as a "slave unit" that connects to compatible HT Instruments "master" multifunction testers via an RS-232 serial cable.

Key Features
  • High-resolution measurement: Generates a test current of approximately 200 A, which allows for a high measurement resolution of 0.1 mΩ. This enables accurate readings even in installations with very low impedance, such as those near MT/BT transformer cabinets.
  • 4-wire measurement: The unit uses a 4-wire method for testing, which separates the current injection from the voltage sensing. This eliminates potential errors caused by the resistance of the test leads and ensures more accurate results.
  • Test capabilities: It can measure loop impedance for phase-neutral (P-N), phase-phase (P-P), and phase-earth (P-PE) connections.
  • Master instrument compatibility: The IMP57 is designed for use with compatible HT Instruments devices, including those from the GSC, SIRIUS, Combi, Macrotest Gx, ZG47, Fulltest3, and Speed418 series.
  • No internal battery: The accessory is powered directly by the system under test, so it does not require its own batteries.
  • No display: As a slave unit, the IMP57 does not have its own display. Test results are viewed on the master instrument it is connected to.
  • Compact design: The unit is housed in a robust case and is portable for on-site use.
