Description

The Megger MIT485/2 is a handheld insulation and continuity tester designed specifically for the telecommunications and cable testing industries. It is an upgrade to the original MIT480 series and features a redesigned case, enhanced safety features, and Bluetooth® data transfer capabilities.

1. Variable insulation testing: The device provides selectable test voltages of 50 V, 100 V, 250 V, and 500 V, with an adjustable variable range from 10 V to 500 V in 1 V steps. It can test insulation resistance up to 100 GΩ.
2. Three-terminal measurement: It features a three-wire connection for A (Tip), B (Ring), and E (Ground/Earth), which allows you to switch between measurement pairs without disconnecting the test leads.
3. Dual digital display with analog arc: The large main digital display shows measurement results, while a smaller digital display shows supplementary data like insulation test voltage and leakage current. The analog arc simulates the response of a moving-coil meter.
4. Test result storage and Bluetooth: The MIT485/2 can store over 1,000 test results and download data wirelessly via Bluetooth.
5. Continuity testing: It offers continuity testing with 200 mA or 20 mA test currents and a selectable buzzer limit.
6. True RMS voltage measurement: Measures AC and DC voltage up to 600 V with True RMS, along with frequency and capacitance measurements.
7. Safety features: Includes live circuit detection and protection, gated access to the 500 V output to prevent accidental damage, and a CAT IV 600V safety rating.
8. Durability and power: The tester has a rugged, over-molded ABS case with an IP54 weatherproof rating and is powered by 6 AA alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries.
