Description

The Megger MPAC128 is a professional acoustic imaging camera used to quickly and safely detect and visualize gas leaks and electrical partial discharge (PD). Using a 128-microphone array, it translates inaudible ultrasonic sounds into a visual "sound map" overlaid on a digital camera image.

• Acoustic sensing: A 128-channel MEMS microphone array detects sounds in a 2 kHz to 48 kHz frequency range, providing high resolution for sound source localization.
• Visual display: The acoustic data is transposed onto an 8MP digital camera image, which is shown on a 7-inch, 1024 x 600 pixel touchscreen display.
• Intuitive interface: The device is designed for easy operation with only two primary parameters to adjust: the measurement frequency range and the dynamic range.
• Leak quantification: The imager can quantify the leak rate to help with cost estimations for repairs.
• Noise reduction: A focus function helps to suppress unwanted environmental noise in loud industrial settings.
• Safety and durability: The MPAC128 has a long detection range of up to 120 meters, allowing technicians to work from a safe distance. It is also IP54 rated for protection against dust and water.
• Data logging: The camera can capture and store images (JPG), audio (WAV), and up to 5-minute videos (MP4). Data can be transferred via microSD card or USB-C memory stick.
• Hazardous area variant: An ATEX-certified version, the MPAC128-ATEX, is available for use in Zone 2 hazardous areas where explosive gases may be present.
