Description

The TES-1359 is a digital sound level meter manufactured by TES Electrical Electronic Corp., designed for measuring noise levels in various environments. It is used for applications like noise pollution monitoring, health and safety compliance, and acoustic testing.

Key Features

Measurement range: It can measure sound levels from 30 to 130 decibels (dB). The range is split into five steps, each 10 dB wide (e.g., 30–90 dB, 70–130 dB), allowing for precise measurements within a specific range.

Accuracy: The meter has an accuracy of ±1.4 dB at 1 kHz.

Standard compliance: It is designed to meet standards such as IEC 61672-1:2002 Class 2, IEC 60651, and ANSI S1.4.

Frequency weighting: It offers both 'A' and 'C' frequency weighting to simulate how the human ear perceives sound. 'A-weighting' filters out low-frequency sounds that humans hear less acutely, while 'C-weighting' provides a flatter response.

Time weighting: The user can set the response time to 'Fast' (125 ms) or 'Slow' (1 second).

Display: The meter features a 4-digit LCD with a 0.1 dB resolution for the exact reading, along with a quasi-analog bar indicator for a quick visual overview of the sound level.

Hold functions: It includes a "maximum hold" function to capture the highest reading during a measurement period and can also display minimum and maximum values.

Microphone: The device uses a 1/2-inch Electret condenser microphone to capture sound.

Output: It has analog AC and DC output terminals for connecting to external recording devices.

Included accessories: The meter typically comes with an instruction manual, carrying case, and a windscreen to help reduce wind noise.
