The Mastech MAS830B is a compact, manual-ranging digital multimeter designed for basic electrical testing by hobbyists, DIYers, and students. It belongs to the MAS830 series, which are all small, hand-held devices noted for their reliable performance.

Key Features
  • Measurements: Measures AC/DC voltage, DC current, and resistance.
  • Transistor test (hFE): Includes a function for testing the gain of bipolar transistors.
  • Diode test: Can check the forward voltage drop across a diode.
  • Display: Features a 3 1/2-digit LCD display with a maximum count of 2000 for clear readings.
  • Data hold: A "HOLD" button allows you to freeze the reading on the screen for easier recording.
  • Protective cover: It comes with a soft, protective polymer cover or rubber holster to help prevent damage from drops.
  • Manual ranging: You must manually set the correct range for each measurement. For safety, it is recommended to start with the highest range and work down.
  • Power: Operates on a single 9V battery.
