Description

The Mitutoyo 126-127 Screw Thread Micrometer is a manual, analog micrometer designed to measure the pitch diameter of screw threads from 50 to 75 mm. It uses interchangeable V-anvil and conical spindle tip sets, which are sold separately, to accommodate different screw thread types. The micrometer comes with a ratchet stop for consistent measurement force and a spindle lock.

Key features
  • Interchangeable tips: The anvil and spindle tip inserts are not included but can be purchased in pairs. This lets the user measure a wide range of screw thread pitches and diameters, including metric, unified (threads per inch), and Whitworth threads.
  • Direct measurement: The micrometer directly measures the pitch diameter of screw threads, eliminating the need for calculations.
  • High accuracy: The measuring surfaces are hardened and precision-ground, with carbide-tipped faces on some models for enhanced durability and long-term accuracy.
  • Ratchet stop: A ratchet-stop mechanism provides constant measuring force to ensure consistent and repeatable measurements. This reduces operator error and protects sensitive workpieces from damage.
  • Stable frame: The micrometer's frame is highly stable and includes a heat shield. This prevents thermal expansion from body heat during extended use, which could otherwise affect accuracy.
  • Spindle lock: A spindle lock secures the measurement once contact is made, preventing the reading from changing.
  • Satin chrome finish: The sleeve and thimble have a satin chrome finish for easy reading.
  • Standard bar and case: The micrometer comes with a standard bar for zeroing and calibration, along with a fitted plastic case for protection and storage.
