The Mitutoyo 368-171 Holtest Inside Micrometer is a mechanical, three-point micrometer used for accurately measuring internal diameters. It is designed for industrial applications where precise measurement and quality control are needed.

• Titanium-coated pins: The measuring contact points are coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN) for excellent durability, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance.
• Blind hole measurement: The titanium-coated measuring pins are mounted in the jaws to allow for diameter measurements close to the bottom of blind holes.
• Material: Unlike older models, the hardened steel pins used in this version are more durable and less prone to chipping than carbide. 
• Three-point contact: The three measuring anvils are spaced 120° apart to ensure automatic centering within the bore. This provides stable and consistent measurements for accurate readings.
• Ratchet stop mechanism: A ratchet stop applies a constant, uniform measuring force to the spindle. This ensures precise and repeatable measurements, regardless of the operator's skill level.
• Non-digital (mechanical) display: The micrometer features a traditional analog display with a satin chrome finish on the thimble and sleeve. The scale is laser-etched for easier reading.
