The Mitutoyo 368-920 Holtest Micrometer Set is a non-digital, three-point internal micrometer set designed for accurate and repeatable measurement of bore diameters ranging from 4 to 8 inches. It is manufactured by Mitutoyo, a company founded in Tokyo in 1934 that specializes in precision measuring tools and metrology equipment.

Key features
  • Three-point contact: The micrometer uses three self-centering anvils spaced 120° apart to ensure accurate alignment within the bore for stable, repeatable measurements. This design helps reduce measurement errors caused by lobing (triangular form errors)
  • TiN-coated contact points: The measuring pins are coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN) for excellent durability and impact resistance.
  • Blind hole measurement: The geometry of the contact points allows for measurements to be taken at the very bottom of a blind hole.
  • Ratchet stop: A ratchet stop mechanism ensures a constant and uniform measuring force is applied, which is crucial for consistent and repeatable results between different operators.
