The Mitutoyo 368-993 Holtest Type II Vernier Inside Micrometer is a 3-point internal micrometer set used for taking precise metric measurements of boreholes. It features a vernier scale for accurate readings and constant-force technology for repeatable measurements. This particular set has a measurement range of 50–100 mm.

  • Three-point contact: The micrometers use a three-point contact system with anvils spaced 120° apart to ensure accurate self-centering within a bore, providing a stable and reliable measurement. This method is especially effective at detecting triangular form error.
  • High accuracy and resolution: The tool offers a resolution of 0.005 mm and a measurement accuracy of $\pm$0.003 mm.
  • Repeatability: A built-in ratchet stop applies a constant force during measurement, which minimizes user-to-user variation and increases the repeatability of results.
  • Blind-hole measurement: The geometry of the contact points allows for measurement close to the bottom of blind holes, which is particularly useful for certain applications.
